How Blogging is a Good Thing for Me
12/18/2014 08:58:00 AM
blogging
You have no idea how many times I've gotten crap from family or friends about having a blog. They ask me, "Why do you want strangers to know about your life?" And while I completely understand where they're coming from, I don't feel like the community of moms who I connect with are strangers.
I've been blogging since I was in High School and while I wasn't a mom back then and didn't blog about parenting, I realized that I could connect with some amazing people who understood me and liked what I wrote. That is still the way I feel and I do hope that by writing about my experiences as a mom or writing about products I believe in, that I can help someone someday with my writings. That's my ultimate goal.
The internet really is an amazing tool to get heard. It gives people the chance to have their space of the web and put their voice and opinions out there when they otherwise probably wouldn't have been heard. It really gives you a sense of pride to see your writings and to see others enjoy your writings.
So how is blogging a good thing for me?
I've been able to connect with some amazing people. I'm a very shy person and don't necessarily enjoy talking to strangers that I meet in person. I can express myself much better through text than I ever could face to face, so I think this is a great method to connect with other moms. I've met some great friends through writing, blogging and commenting and I wouldn't have been able to meet those people if I wasn't blogging. I also would have never gotten to connect with amazing brands such as Libman, Disney's Imagination Movers, independent companies that I've worked with and I would have never been able to meet Paula Deen and her sons either. I've had some amazing opportunities through this blog and hope to keep experiencing amazing things.
Writing is an outlet for me and something that I really love to do. I always have these creative ideas in my head about things to write and I'm just so happy that I can express them. I used to write them in my journal and I realized that no one would ever see them. I've always wanted to be a writer so if I can get my work out there in some way, shape or form, I'm very happy. As I've said before, I want to be able to impact someone's life or help them through my writings and I believe that I will someday.
I think that with all of the stress moms have on a daily basis, every mother should have a creative and emotional outlet for themselves! Whether it's writing a blog, a journal, a novel, art, photography, crafts or scrapbooking; it's important to have a way to express yourself and relieve the stress.
I learn more about myself as a mom. Which is funny to say but as I write about experiences and look back at the things I write, I realize how much I've grown. I enjoy reading old blog posts to see what was important to me back then, what was annoying me, my views and issues I had. It helps me to see my progress over the years and shows me that you do get wiser as you get older. (Sometimes!) I think it's important for every blogger to take a look at their old posts, sometimes it's great to reflect.
Blogging strengthens my writing skills. I used to take creative writing classes but they got too expensive for me and I kept learning the same things over and over again anyway! I'm a strong believer in practice makes perfect and I think by blogging and writing every day, it helps me to practice my writing skills. I do see a huge improvement from 4 years ago to today with my writing. I've gotten better at the humorous tone of writing, I am able to come up with titles easier for posts and I feel like my posts are much stronger than they were back then!
I feel like strenghtening my blogging skills helps me with my business and my career. My business is content marketing, writing for other websites on top of being a Virtual Assistant and Social Media and SEO Consultant. So the more strengths that I have in writing, the more advantages I will have in business.
Blogging gives me another income stream. While it isn't much (for now! I'm determined!) blogging does give me another way of earning income. That income, in turn, helps my family have a little extra for special days with my kids, little surprises for them, a dinner out every once in a while and so on... I don't make millions or even thousands with my blog, but whatever I do make is something more than I had before!
I learn new things. Occasionally I get an amazing post idea in my head and then I realize that it would include researching the topic at hand. At first I get a little discouraged, realizing that I have to have that extra step to create the content, but then I get excited at the thought of learning something new! I enjoy challenging myself and feel that writing on a topic that I have to research is definitely challenging.
Blogging has made me more accountable. That probably sounds weird but I've always been a procrastinator. In High School, I was the queen of waiting until last minute to do things and then rushing the last minute. With blogging you can do that as well, but if you want good, strong content for others to read and to be found in search engines; you can't just wait until last minute to crank out a post. You have to carefully plan your posts and start writing and (if you have to) researching before having the post done. It's also a matter of reading over your post a few times to make sure that everything flows nicely, makes sense and is spell checked.
It's also helped me to be more accountable in my personal/family life as well, since I have stopped procrastinating and tackle things head first and before I have to actually complete them. It's really enabled me to have less stress in my life, which I am very thankful for.
I've learned to handle both criticism and constructive criticism. Being a blogger and expressing your opinion about various topics, some controversial, have it's positives and negatives. You can state your opinion and have your voice heard, but you also sometimes get a lot of crap for doing so. I've gotten a lot of crap for certain posts I've written, from people who think my parenting style is crap and some people who just don't like me! At first it really hurt me to see these comments, but I realized that I couldn't let it bother and discourage me. I learned to brush it off and take it in stride and not to let it bother me because I love what I do and I'm not going to stop.
It's also helped me to handle constructive criticism. Now, some of you are probably saying, "But you were an art major and had pieces ripped up and destroyed right in front of your face. How were you unable to handle constructive criticism?" Well, I look at art and writing as two completely separate things. Art is my creative outlet and passion and writing is more of an emotional outlet and passion. Yes, it took me a long while to get used to the constructive criticism that I got while an art major in college. It hurt for quite a while! However constructive criticism of my writing and blog hurt even more. I worked long and hard on my blog and my posts and honestly, it's more emotional for me. I can crank out a painting pretty quickly but blog posts, planning and design take me a lot longer; but I've learned to deal with it. I've learned to take the constructive criticism and use it to better my writing, my blog and my content. And I appreciate that.

Blogging Goals for 2014 and Review of 2013
1/02/2014 11:40:00 AM
blogging, blogging goals, my business, new year, resolutions, year in review
The time has come again where we can sit back and analyze what happened in the past year in order to figure out what to keep doing and what to change in the year in front of us. I know that in 2013, even though I had the best intentions, I didn't have the time to concentrate fully on my blog and I really do regret that. As I've always said, blogging is a emotional outlet and a way for me to share who I am with others and it is incredibly important to me. 2013 was very busy with my mom being sick, moving and being in between jobs, because of that I was not able to blog as much as I would have liked to. I've worked hard, in the past few weeks, to come up with an editorial calendar for 6 months which would definitely help me with my blogging. I'm getting back on schedule with my writings.
I barely concentrated on my business in 2013, which I hate myself for. My goal for the future is to grow my business successfully so I would be able to make that my sole source of income. Unfortunately, frustration, depression, plus the other three factors above also made me not able to put my all into it this past year. Though, I may have two new clients for 2014 -- so that's pretty exciting. This year, I want to put my all into my business to try to grow it to be successful, I want to accomplish my goals.
So what are my blogging goals in 2014?
1. Follow My Editorial Calendar - I've worked hard in the past two weeks to put together an editorial calendar for my blog. I really wracked my brain to come up with topics that are unique, fit my blog niche, and would be interesting to my readers. I really want to follow my editorial calendar so that I am able to keep up creating new and interesting content to draw in some new readership as well.
2. Get Some Sponsorships, Ambassadorships or Reviews - I used to work with a few different companies (Libman, Nutrisystem, etc...) for different blogging ventures but had to resign from working with them due to life happenings that were beyond my control. This year, I want to work with companies again and get some great products going for my readers to have the opportunity to win. Though, I know that before I get that far, I need to build up my blog a bit and get my readership back up.
3. Build My Blog & Readership - I used to have close to 2,000 followers/readers and a lot more pageviews than I have now. I understand that it's because of the fact that I had to flat out abandon my blog for a little bit while I worked on life. One of my blog resolutions is to create interesting and engaging content to build my readership back up again. I'm going to get there by 2015 and hopefully will even surpass my goals by that point. This year I am going to concentrate heavily on blogging and learning more about the art.
4. Work on Business & That Blog - My business will definitely flourish in 2014. Since I have more time now to work on my business and it's blog as well, this year will be a great one for my business. I will have funds to put aside for my business and various business investments which will also help me along to gain clients and visibility as well. I also have two potential clients that are interested in negotiations in the coming weeks, so that will also be a huge thing for me. I have faith in myself for this coming year. (Shameless plug: Infopoint Virtual)
5. Take More Photos for Blog - A few months back I invested in an amazing new camera and have used it extensively to take photos but not for my blog. I want to start learning how to properly use the camera and take more photos to share on my blog. I really want to feel like my blog is completely mine with photos and content by me.
6. Push my FB Fan Page - Irony? I'm a Social Media consultant and work with other companies and brands on the importance of Facebook and Twitter in their businesses and promotion. Though I don't push it myself. The pot calling the kettle black, right? This year I really want to focus on using what I do for a living to promote myself.
7. Read More Blogs & Comment - I have my few favorite blogs that I'm reading daily, though I need to take the time to find new blogs and make more bloggy friends by commenting and getting some comments in return. I always see great posts but hardly ever comment. I need to reach out more often.
8. Try to Attend Blogging Events - Two years ago I attended PLENTY of blogging events and had such a good time doing so. I was able to meet some great bloggers, learn some useful tips and got awesome information. I need to get back into that, it was a blast.
I really want to change myself and my blog for 2014 and I believe that I have the motivation and drive to do so. I'm going to be working very hard, but at the end of the year it would be completely worth it. Look for my Personal 2014 Resolutions post in the coming days.

The Daily Post: How My Blog Has Changed / Goals for 2013
5/24/2013 09:45:00 AM
2013 goals, about me, blogging, blogging prompt, crazy life, goals, my job, why i blog, writing prompt
When you started your blog, did you set any goals? Have you achieved them? Have they changed at all? - Prompt from The Daily Post
This blog started off in 2007 to be an outlet for my creativity and to promote my Etsy store. I was partially unemployed, trying to make it on my own and pretty depressed about not having many people to associate with offline. I felt lonely and wanted to feel like I was contributing something to someone. Well, as time went on I realized that I really missed blogging -- I love to write about random topics that are important to me or sharing stories about my life and family. So I decided to move my blog in a different direction and go back to writing about family, mommy situations, topics that are near and dear to my heart, etc...
I started my blog in this direction because I was trying to find a place where I would belong and for inspiration for my writing. Being different and having a creative mind, I never really fit in amongst anyone around me. I thought with the right side of my brain while everyone around me thought with the left side; I look at everything and find beauty and creativity in it...a lot of people don't understand that. Therefore, I got bullied a lot and got made fun of a lot. I wanted to be with people who are me, who are also creative and think creatively.
My main goal, once I turned this into a personal (slash) mom blog, was to connect with other moms and share information and experiences. I wanted to try to contribute what I knew to others out there. I've always said, If I can help just one person with my blog, I would feel like I accomplished a hell of a lot. That's actually become my personal motto, one that I keep dear to my heart. Basically, I wanted to make a difference. Now, I know I'm not the most popular mom blogger out there, but I feel like I've accomplished that goal. I've had people comment saying that my post really helped them or that they could relate to me or that I gave someone the strength to go on as a single mom... I love hearing all of the positive feedback because just as I may have helped them a little, they're helping me keep my motivation and confidence.
Another goal that I have is to help brands. I'm very PR Friendly and love to connect with brands to promote them, that's something I am passionate about. Being a SEO and Social Media coordinator, helping brands and businesses is my passion. I feel that since I have the skills to help companies get "out there", I should definitely incorporate it into my blog in a different way, and I do. I've worked with some amazing companies and PR reps and continue to do more in the future. These are my ultimate goals:
- To completely monetize my blog well enough to have a good second income to put into savings for my girls.
- To become an ambassador for a company.
- To go on a blogger conference trip to network, learn more and promote my blog.
- To continue to grow a readership that actively loves to give me positive feedback but also constructive criticism.
I would love for my blog to become another business for me along with being a hobby and I will actively work towards that goal until it actually happens. Goals are a part of my life -- I feel like I have to set goals for myself or I could easily get sidetracked, derailed and discouraged.
What are your blogging goals?

All because I started blogging
I've been blogging here for 4 years. This blog started out as a blog for my jewelry shop in 2008 until I realized that I missed blogging about my kids and my life. I missed networking with moms, sharing life experiences, making friends and writing. Once I realized what I was missing in my life, I decided on turning this into a blog about me and my family; I'm so glad I did.
Over the past 4 years I have met some great people, had the chance to work with some great companies and I had the chance to grow. Looking back at posts from 2009, I realized just how much I've grown over the past few years.
Four years ago I was 24 years old, struggling to make ends meet for my kids by taking on seasonal retail jobs, I was not comfortable in my own skin and wanted to embellish to make myself sound "cooler" than I was. Even though it didn't seem like it, I was still suffering from post partum depression...and a bad case of it. I hated myself and my life, I was grasping for straws to find anything that would make me happy. I spent money because, well, retail therapy... I was slightly irresponsible and didn't pay attention to finances. I took advantage of the fact that I lived with my mom and lived in the house for free and was just generally an unhappy person; even though I didn't let it show.
Since then I've learned the real value of money and how important it is to budget and make sure that you don't frivoulsly spend money. Hell, I still love to shop and retail therapy still helps me feel better, but I don't spend nearly as much as I used to. I've become a better mother and started disciplining my girls instead of letting them have free reign of everything, I feel they respect me more because of that. I still have lingering depression but it's not half as bad as it was 4 years ago. I've learned to love myself and learned that if I wanted something different about myself, I had to go do it myself. I have the power to change my own life and my own future and I am definitely taking control of it now. I learned, over the past four years, that I am a pretty damn cool person. I've learned that if someone doesn't like me for who I am, screw them. I'm not going to pretend to be something I'm not for anyone.
Of course, my blog isn't as successful as I want it to be, but that will come with more time and dedication to making it into something spectacular. My blog has also gotten me into the job field I am in today; Marketing Manager/SEO Consultant. Due to the fact that I needed to learn more about promotion, keywords, social media, etc... I've learned so much and have done extensive research into being successful at it all. I'm sure I still have plenty to learn, but I know enough to impress companies and get them the results that they want. I may not have my "dream SEO/Social Media" job as of yet but I know there is earning potential, I feel that the more I work and the more I learn, the more opportunity I will have to be successful...I just have to keep working towards my dreams.
I owe my new found maturity, self confidence and partial success to my blog and all my readers. It's been a great four years sharing here and I'm hoping for many more to come.
How has your blog changed you?

about me, being a mommy, blog posts, blogging
I've been too busy lately and haven't had too much time to upkeep this blog properly. Since May I have been really promoting and working on my Virtual Assisting & Social Media Consulting business, being a mom, looking for a full time job and trying to upkeep my home. It's hard being a single mom and trying to do it all, but I've been overworking myself trying to get it all done. I absolutely love this blog and love the mommy blogger "blogosphere" and do not want to neglect it anymore. This is how I escape from my home and am able to communicate with other moms; I love it with all my heart.

Why Do I Blog? How do I fit it in?
I saw this topic on another mommy blog and I thought I would blog about it too. Do you blog as a hobby, business or do you want to make a living from it?
Actually, I have had a blog since 1999. I was blogging before I was a mommy and before mommy blogging even really came about. Back then, it was called "Personal Blogging" and "Cam Girls" were big. (2000-2004) Not the slutty "Cam Girls" you see now, but in the definition of teenagers who had webcams and pretty much took pictures of everything along with captions.

Miscellany Monday: Exhaustion, Clothing Swaps, Insane Weather and more!
I haven't done Miscellany Monday in quite a while and I did miss it! Honestly, I love the fact that I can put different random thoughts in one post and not have to worry too much about how it flows. Effortless; almost! Anyone who knows me, knows that I am very random. I can be talking about one thing and the next minute I will just come out with something completely unrelated. It's hilarious (to my friends) and it's annoying to people who don't understand how I can be! Miscellany Monday gives me a reason to be random. So thanks to those @ Lowercase Letters who came up with a great idea!

Expulsion, Termination and Compensated Blogging
Occasionally, mommy bloggers will get a bad rap for many reasons. Some say we are too demanding, others say we should not get paid for our hobby and some even say that we neglect our children in order to either get good "material" for our blog or to spend hours on our blog. None of which is true! There are also mommy bloggers getting fired from their jobs or even children getting expelled from school because of innocent things bloggers are saying. Is this a reasonable reason for expulsion or to be let go from your job? Not unless the things being said are damaging to the children involved or something fiercely damaging to the job or employer. With some of the stories I'm hearing, parents are being penalized for writing such innocent stories about their children, about school functions or even a simple statement about their job. To me, it's absolutely absurd! True, there are some people who do not understand blogging or even the internet, but they are making rash decisions without even consulting with the parents or employee. There was one story I recently heard, where a pre-school aged child was expelled for her mother venting about an ordeal she had gone through at her daughter's school. The mother wrote nothing damaging and she did not name any names or specific places. Blogging is for venting and is an outlet for emotion and writing how you feel. Just as an artist paints or a musician sings or composes music. If we can't write about how we feel and if we can't let our emotions out through our writings on our personal domains, how can we do it?

Why blogging sometimes seems like a chore.
I absolutely love blogging, don't get me wrong. Though, this morning on Twitter I saw a tweet and blog post that I could really relate to a lot. This kind of goes back into my blog post/article about "What Makes a Popular Mommy Blogger" because it has a lot in common with what I wrote there.
There are some smaller known bloggers (who still have a following) that are great at writing but don't get the recognition others do. This happens no matter how hard they try or no matter what they do to bring up their readership. Some people just can't win and I do see the discouragement in some blogs about this when I read them. It's not like we are picky, but we just want to know why some blogs are singled out. Is it because they make money and have tons of sponsors? Is it because they blog multiple times a day? It is because they tell all in their lives, even the obscene moments? (I have none, so I can't write about that. LOL) It is discouraging and frustrating a lot of the time. Yet we still blog.
I can tell you right now, I don't blog for the money or recognition. [As much as my complaining sounds like that!] I blog because I absolutely love to blog and because writing really makes me feel better. Even though, sometimes I wish more people would read what I have to say; doesn't every blogger wish that? It's the reason why we continue to improve and tweak our blogs. This is why it feels like a chore.
Occasionally you write a post, read it over, and feel it's inadequate. Even though it's our own feelings, our posts and writing style seems completely inadequate and not up to par with other bloggers. We shouldn't feel like this, but the entire "blogosphere" is competitive. It's hard to feel comfortable about our posts when we read others that get comments up the freakin' wazoo and ours get 1-6 per post. Rewriting our posts and trying to add lines in there to make things funnier and more interesting, it's hard. It's exhausting, it's frustrating and defintiely feels like a chore and an effort when it should be fun. I believe this is why a lot of mommy bloggers, and bloggers in general, quit. They feel like they've been beat and just stop trying to succeed. That will not happen with me because I love my blog too much, but I can understand why some feel like that.
Any thoughts? Popular and less known bloggers welcome to form their own opinions!

Fun Summer Activity - Make Veggie Critters with Scallion Bacon Ranch Dip!!
This project kills two birds with one stone; A family fun activity as well as getting your kids to eat their vegetables! My kids LOVED to make these lovely little veggie critters and couldn't wait to eat their creations.
I've learned, over the 5 years that I've been a mom, it is difficult to get your kids to eat their vegetables. From the moment they're babies, you have to do the airplane to try to get the peas into their mouths or mixing the peas or green beans into their mashed potatoes telling them it's a new "recipe" they can make... Anything to make them think eating their vegetables is fun. Well, why don't they PLAY with their food?
What a great family summer project this is!
Break out the bell peppers, mini cucumbers, olives, tomatoes, broccoli and carrots as well as some Hidden Valley Ranch dip mix and GET GOING!!
HOW DO I MAKE THE DIP?
1 packet Hidden Valley® The Original Ranch® Salad Dressing & Seasoning Mix
2 8 oz. tubs reduced fat cream cheese
2 8 oz. tubs reduced fat cream cheese
Scallions
Hormel Real Bacon Bits
Instructions:
Instructions:
- Add the seasoning mix to the cream cheese.
- Stir until well combined.
- Snip the scallions and add to dip. The amount is your preference.
- Add the hormel bacon bits
- Stir
- Using a variety of vegetables – and a little imagination – you can build critters with your child.
HOW DID WE MAKE CRITTERS?
LADY BUGS: Cut grape tomatoes down the middle into two sides. Take black olives and slice them into small bits for the spots. Attach "spots" with some of the dip to keep it on the tomato.
Slice a small sliver of one of your mini cucumbers for the "leaf" that the lady bugs sit on.
BUTTERFLY: Cut one small side of a bell pepper, cut that in half and shape it to resemble wings. Cut one half of a mini cucumber for the body of the butterfly. Again, attach wings to cucumber with some dip. Use baby carrots for the antennae
Use Broccoli to make the "trees". Attach the trees upright to the plate with dip as well.
OF COURSE, these are just ideas. This is how we made our critters. Feel free to make your own with your imagination!!
My girls were VERY amused that the dip could also be used as a "paste" to keep the pieces in place.
My girls were so proud of their creations!
And they enjoyed chowing down on it too!
ENJOY!! Let me know if you try this great project. :)
This post is part of a blogging contest from the TwitterMoms community. There is a chance this post could be selected to win a $25 AmEx Gift Card, so wish me luck! For more details, you can view the contest page here (link to: http://www.twittermoms.com/forum/topics/share-your-veggie-critter)

Welcome to Life of an Artsy Mom - Friday Follows 06/11/10!!
6/10/2010 11:44:00 PM
blog hop, blogging, five question friday, friday follow, get to know me, kids, life
No comments
Fridays are my favorite day of the week because I get to find some new blogs and get some new great followers. I love new friends! :) On this great day of the week, I love to take my free time to blog hop and read (and comment on!) blogs that really deserve it. Let me give you some information about me so you know who you're following! For my regular followers & readers -- we will be back to our regularly scheduled blogging shortly! Ha!
My name is Kristin but I am either called Krissy or Jess. I am a 25 year old single mom of two girls from the Metro NYC area. (I actually live in New Jersey, but 20 minutes from Manhattan.) I am an artist (fine artist and jewelry designer primarily) but I also do merchandising jobs for companies who need extra help. I love to blog and love to write. For me, it's an emotional outlet, as is art for me as well. I consider myself a theater junkie. I see Broadway shows much more often than I'd like to admit. If you'd like to know more about me, I go into a lot better detail HERE. :)
Random facts:
Random facts:
- I never tan. I'm the only Italian that I know of that burns...and burns badly.
- Because of that, I am forever trying to find a self tanner that actually works well.
- I love Apple products. And yes, I am hyped about the new
iPhone 4!! :) - I have naturally curly/frizzy hair. I flat iron a lot.
- Purses are one of my addictions. I have too many.
- Yard sales are love for me. I find some great stuff.
- I love to refurbish old furniture and do that a lot from garage sale finds.
- My room is colorful. Pink walls with a lot of colorful accents.
- Soon I will be getting a new car! (Thank God for trade ins and financing!)
- My Nutrisystem weight loss bears are my most prized posessions & motivation.
- I love to bead. That's primarily the basis of my business.
- I spoil my girls way too much, but they also know the value of money.
- The Coach store is my weakness. Even if I won't buy anything from there, I'll go in and look around.
1. What do you think makes a good friend, or friendship? I believe a good friend is someone who is there for you no matter what. Someone who listens to your complaints, someone who answers the phone or text messages when you need them the most. Someone who you feel comfortable being goofy and yourself around. I also believe that you should have some things in common, but this isn't always the case. :) Some best friends could also be polar opposites!!
2. What is the last thing you bought & later regretted? Oh man, shoppers remorse happens to me everytime I shop. LOL There is no specific thing I may have gotten, but it happens to me whenever I come home with something. I always ask myself, "Do I really need this? Can I get by without it?" The shoppers remorse usually dissipates quickly, but I guess it's healthy that it even crosses my mind in the first place.
3. Have you ever had a prank played on you? Yes. All of the time during my elementary and high school life. It got so bad that at this point in time, I hate pranks and DESPISE April Fool's Day.
4. What is your favorite theme park? I love Six Flags, although I haven't gone there too much. I should be going a few times this year, though. :) I also love the boardwalk in Wildwood NJ. It's great for my kids. (And no, it's not THAT Jersey Shore!!) Dorney Park is also so much fun. :)
5. Have you ever seen someone else give birth? No, No, No, No. The only time I have experienced birth are the two times I had my kids. LOL

All mommy bloggers make money?
I heard the funniest thing yesterday. Let me start from the beginning. I posted on a message board filled with moms some great links to giveaways on various blogs. I really thought that they would enjoy the possibility to win some great products. After all, it was a couponing/budgeting message board anyway! I wrote up a nice post explaining how mommies give away some great stuff and work hard on their blogs.
I get a response a few minutes later saying that mommy blogs are not allowed to be posted on the message board because ALL MOMMIES BLOG FOR A PROFIT. I got a PM a few minutes later saying that mommies should not get paid for blogging because it is not a real job. -- EXCUSE ME??
First and foremost, all mommies do not get paid to blog. Hell, I make absolutely no money from my blog. If I get ANY compensation for anything, it is either in the form of coupons or just comped merchandise. I get NO monetary compensation for my blog. So right off, all mommies do not get paid. Secondly, I do strongly believe that blogging is not just a hobby but can be a form of financial support. People put a lot of work into their blogs. They spend a lot of time on their blogs and I think mommies deserve compensation for what they do. They work hard enough.
I'm just finding it a huge misconseption that all mommy bloggers get paid to blog. I also find it rude that people think it is not a real job. Writers get paid to write, editors get paid to edit, photographers get paid to take pictures...why can't mommy bloggers get paid to do all of the above? That just set me off last night when I read that.
