Monday Mingle (text version): Couponing, iPhone apps and Music!
I want to vlog these questions, but I am going to have to do that when I get home. Unfortunately, I got up early and had planned to do this early, but my kids woke up too and got me busy. Alayna decided she hated the uniform I had picked out for her -- she didn't want the khaki jumper, she wanted the navy blue jumper. I choose my own battles and decided that I would just wash her stupid navy blue jumper. Ha! On top of that, getting my kids to eat breakfast is a battle all in itself. Got Alayna to school and had time before work, so I was going to go home and do Monday Mingle... Starbucks decided to give me a Macchiato instead of what I asked for... Such a mess!

Flat Tires, Thanksgiving and FOOD!! Monday Mingle for Nov 15th!
How hectic! Last week was pretty crazy since I worked over 40 hours and went on an interview for a second job. I went for the interview with H&R Block (Which I worked for, 2 tax seasons past...) and it seems very promising. I did explain to them that I have a full time job and can probably only work nights and weekends. They were very sweet and very accommodating. I really don't want anything to mess up my full time job because I am doing very well and I am very happy with it. Of course, the extra income is always something that is welcome around here... It will be crazy if I do end up getting that job as well, but making money and providing for my kids is the most important. :)
Today is going to be a struggle to actually get work done. My uncle is having his second cataract surgery and that means my mom is at the hospital with him. I have to work at 10 and Olivia is home with me while Alayna is in school. Thank God, after I pick her up from school, my grandmother offered to take the both of them for a little while so I can work... It won't be that bad until I have to pick her up, but it will be a struggle trying to keep Olivia quiet while I work on the phones. At least she may fall asleep within the next 20 minutes. (One can hope, right?)
I want to get another giveaway posted today or tomorrow, so keep a look out for that! It's gonna be a great one too! I have so much to get done on my blog and so little time to do it all in! I also have articles that have deadlines within the next 48 hours... Will I get everything done on time? Well, I'm hoping I will!
Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Monday Mingle: November 8, 2010 & A new job!?
I hope everyone had a great weekend! I tried to with only one day off. (Sunday) I was as lazy as I could possibly be too! :) So, since I'm back into blogging full time, I decided to participate in the Monday Mingle again! I do apologize for the harsh lighting as I need new lightbulbs in my room/office and all I had was a very bright lamp that gave an annoying glare. Oh well, better that than a very grainy dark video, right? I need to learn how to use my Flip Cam for these things! (Or maybe I need that new bloggy/webby whatever it is! lol)
While I was working I did get a call from H&R Block. They wanted me to come back this year a a Customer Service Coordinator or a Tax Preparer... While I am a certified tax preparer, I'm petrified to actually put that certification to use and do taxes. LOL I know the entire form is online and it's simple because the computer calculates everything for you, but I still worry. Getting certified was just something I did out of boredom and I didn't ever think I would put it to use. Well, since I do need another job, I hopefully can get hired by H&R Block at night and on weekends, when I am off from BlueFly. I could use the dual income. Let's cross our fingers!
Don't forget to enter our great Giveaways:

Monday Mingle - 06/21/10
Unfortunately, I'm in a hotel room with other people and can't Vlog, but I still want to partake in the Monday Mingle. Today I'm just going to post the questions and answers. Everyone already thinks I'm odd for typing my entire life to strangers on the internet. LOL (It seems natural to me!!)
Vacation is going great!! It's so beautiful here and just perfect. We ended up going to Ruby Tuesdays for dinner last night, and what a story that was! (For a later blog! LOL) We also tried to find a Walgreens that was open 24 hours and that proved to be a feat!!
Soon we'll be going out to the pool and then to Sonic for lunch. We're considering BBQ for dinner before our fun and great event. :)
ONWARD TO MONDAY MINGLE!!
1. What is the one thing you find most frustrating about getting older? I'm only 25, but I feel so much older sometimes. I think the most frustrating thing about getting older, for me, is just knowing that I'm getting closer to 30. Why does that scare me so badly? I have absolutely no idea!
2. What is the one thing you like best about it? Getting older is getting wiser. ;)
3. What age did you look forward to most? 18 so I could be independant and on my own, and 21. Everyone wants to be 21 for obvious reasons! :D LOL Although, I still get carded when I go out for drinks. I just look young. I guess that's a good thing!!

I'm going to mix two lovely things today... A great new "meme" called Monday Miscellany and Monday Mingle! I found out about Monday Miscellany today and it just seems like so much fun. I'm always so random in my blogs, and this gives me a reason to be! So without further adieu, Monday Miscellany! (Monday Mingle vlog is below this, so if you're here for that..it's here!)

As much as people complain about Apple Computers for their shitty warranties, their lack of insurance for iPhone and their overpriced merchandise, I have to love them. I am a Mac Geek. I've been using Macs for almost 10 years and I've had an iPhone since the first generation. I love their products and have hardly any complaints. Today, the worst thing happened. Well, one of the worst.
You see, I have a Macbook that I got in 2007. It was my first Macbook (Even though I had a G4 before this) and it was the love of my life. It got me through quite a while before I upgraded to a newer Macbook. (Thanks to tax refund checks and birthday gifts. Ha!) I had always kept the first Macbook I got (I've had for almost 4 years) because it had my Photoshop, graphic design stuff, iTunes (with all my music) and it's the computer I use for my iPhone . It still worked like a charm... Until today.
I turned it on (or attempted to) in hopes to finally download the new update for my iPhone. I turn it on...nothing on the screen. I do a hard reboot and I see a very scrambled screen that is partially black. I freak the hell out. I mean freak out as in start sweating, shaking, NERVOUS BREAKDOWN-esque. The first thing I do is call my local Apple Store... They set up an appointment for me to come in and have it looked at. Ok... So I go. They take me right away and the first words I hear are..."Oh no, your screen is shattered." Um...HOW THE HELL DOES MY SCREEN GET SHATTERED IF I KEEP IT IN A SAFE PLACE AT ALL TIMES? They answered that since it is almost 4 years old, it can happen with age. GOOD THING - It can be fixed... I ask how much. Ready for this?
$445.00
Is that really a good thing Mr. Apple Bar Technician? So, I tell him to go ahead with the repairs, since that Macbook has a lot of stuff on it that I need. I'll come up with the $445. Maybe the money tree in my back yard will magically grow $500 within a week. *eye roll* He was very kind and said that when it's repaired, all I have to do is put down a down payment and I can pay off the rest. Well, thank you Apple Bar Technician. You are now my new best friend. It will be fixed within a week.

My trip that I am taking this coming week has been moved up. I was supposed to leave early Monday morning and come back Tuesday evening... I got a call today that it would be easier to leave Sunday morning. After a talk with my mom and realizing that we really don't have anything to do on Father's Day, we both agreed Sunday would actually be better. It just adds one more night of homesickness and missing my little lovies. :( They're just excited that they can have two whole days of special day trips with my mom and my uncle. Ha! I hope they'll miss me just a little bit!

We are having a yard sale on Saturday, know what that means? This week will be hardcore cleaning until we can't stand cleaning anymore. I note this as a good thing because I really have so much that I need to get rid of. So many baby things, electronics, furniture and so on. Maybe I can pick up some extra pocket change. Except, my kids don't understand the concept of: You have too many toys. You have to go through your toys and sell what you don't want or don't play with anymore. They find this agonizing and torturous. Oh yes, I mean blood curdling screams torturous. Torturous as in it will kill them to sell some of their toys. Of course, when I bring up the subject of whatever money they make from selling toys we can use towards fun day trips this summer or a small trip to Toys R Us, they change their tune. I'm still dreading going through their toys with them because I know the argument will ensue again. What's funny is we just watched an episode of Caillou yesterday where he had to go through his toys for a yard sale... Oh the irony.

Dear Alayna decided she doesn't want bangs anymore. We never actually got her bangs as they just grew in that way when her hair grew in as a baby/toddler. She decided she wants to let her bangs grow out so she can be "bangless". Hey, less trouble for me to cut them, but I don't think she's gonna enjoy it when her bangs are in that "in between" stage and in her eyes all the time. Let's see how long the "i don't want bang" thing lasts. I give it two more months.

Olivia is already telling me what she wants for her birthday, which is in December!! So far, on her list, she has a new Pillow Pet (a dog, to be specific), her own Nintendo DS, she wants Imagination Movers tickets (even though we have no idea when they are going to go on tour again) and more flip flops. Yes, she wants flip flops in the winter. She is starting to talk more and be able to communicate what she wants... The joys of TWO chatterboxes in the house. lol

I'm still waiting for a package that was supposed to arrive this past weekend. On the shipping information it says it has been rescheduled...um?? I kind of need it before I leave on Sunday. Here's to hoping the "reschedule" still gets it here in the TWO BUSINESS DAYS I paid for it to get here. If not, my angry self will be calling the company and try to get reimbursed for the express shipping fees I paid. Yeah...

I'm addicted to Hanson's new CD. Addicted as in listening to the CD at every minute I have that I can listen to music. It's making me even more hyped for the concert I am going to in mid July. I NEVER get tired of Hanson. They have been my true band love since 1997! (AND I AINT ASHAMED! lol)
Onto the Monday Mingle...

Causes, Books and Humor?? :)
I love the Monday Mingle (although today feels nothing like a Monday!!) Visit EightyMPHMom.com for the main Monday Mingle.
I hope everyone had a GREAT Memorial Day!! Mine was very laid back, but I can't complain too much. We don't have a lot of family around here and my grandmother preferred to stay home where it was cool. Completely understandable seeing as how it was 95 degrees today.
We ended up taking Alayna to the Memorial Day parade here this morning. It was so hot sitting out there, but she had a good time and loved the bands and drummers. (She wants to play the drums)
This afternoon we had a BBQ for just my mom, Alayna my uncle and I. Today is my uncle's 35th anniversary of becoming a priest, so we had a cake and I BBQ'ed some burgers and hot dogs. :) I was pretty proud of myself since I didn't burn anything. The food seemed to be pretty good too! Compliments to me! Ha! I've never BBQ'ed before this, so it was a huge accomplishment for me.
Me BBQing. :) Trust me, if I hadn't lost the 27lbs I have, I'd NEVER allow a full body pic to be posted. LOL
Alayna digging in the mud. Hehe.
Grilled Kelbasa. Yummm

TV shows, Restaurants, Parenting and Mother's Day - Monday Mingle for May 10, 2010
(Monday Mingle is below. I just want to update a little!)
Well, you know the apprehension about eating bad at the communion party we had to go to on Saturday? Now I know why I had that apprehension... My mom always told me that when I get a bad feeling, there is usually a reason for it... It's proved to be right more than once, but I never want to admit my mom was right. Turns out, I got sick. I wasn't feeling good throughout the party, but ignored it. I just had no appetite and didn't feel like eating. All I had was a small salad and some green beans with parmesan and almonds. I got home from the party around 9 pm and around 9:30 I started vomiting. Turns out, I had a high fever and just felt terrible all day yesterday and until about 12pm today. It was horrible. I hate getting sick and this was no different. What a great Mother's Day I had yesterday...in bed all day. We did go visit my Mom-Mom to give her the gift we had gotten her, but I ended up sleeping on her couch for the 3 hours we were there. The kids were very cooperative and very good for my mom when I was sick, I have to give them that credit. At least I woke up this morning and was 199! (But I only ate one small bowl of soup yesterday!)
So many people told me how great I looked when we were at the party. I wore the dress I bought in the smallest size I've been in years. I've worked so hard to lose this weight and most of these people haven't even seen me in an entire year, so I was a lot heavier. I just felt so great that people noticed. I definitely notice. :)
My kids had such a good time at the party. Alayna definitely isn't shy... She ended up making friends with all the kids there and was dancing like crazy! I have videos that I want to upload, because she was so adorable dancing with everyone. Olivia even started dancing, after she got over being shy. They had such a good time and looked like such little princesses! If you want to see the rest of the pictures from the party, click here -- Communion Party Pictures.

Monday Mingle - -4/05/10
I had recorded a second version of the Monday Mingle, but unfortunately it was with my digital camera. I guess the format was too large because YouTube would not upload it. Oh the frustration! I'll figure out how to make the format smaller so next time it will work!
New Jersey is one of the only few states who do NOT have a mutual consent registry for adoptees and birth parents. I think that is very wrong, as stated in the video. I, for one, am an adoptee who had to PAY money to find out who they are and where they came from. I think that's just plain wrong. Everyone deserves an explanation, if they can get it. If the birth mother/parents are willing to be found and if they are willing to meet the adoptee, why can't that happen without paying? Adoptive parents pay enough to adopt in the first place. Unfortunately, there are adoption groups in New Jersey that are against the registry. They feel as if it is an invasion of privacy. Though, how is it an invasion of privacy to fill out a form to be put in a registry that you want to meet the other party? It's not giving out any immediate information. I am strongly for the mutual consent registry.
After paying to find my biological family, I had found out that my birth sister had been looking for me for 2 years. Of course, if there was that mutual consent registry, I might have been able to find her earlier than I did. There should be a simpler way to find out your past. -- That's my stance.

Monday Mingle - 03/29/10
My freaking PhotoBooth on my Mac cut off the ending of my video. It was only about a minute left, but it frustrated me. :( Basically, my entire house needs organization. LOL Enjoy!!
